The First Meeting
This is where we start to design your dream outdoor living space by listening carefully to how you envision your dream pool. We measure your yard, take extensive notes, and make sure your needs are addressed.
Design Consulting
During the design process, you will be meeting and working with one of our professional design staff to create a design that will meet the need of your family and your lifestyle. We use state-of-the-art 3D graphics to help you better visualize how your finished design concept will look. Also, during the process, you will be selecting finishes for your new pool such as tile, decking material, and interior finishes
Permitting
We shall acquire the permits for the construction of the pool. All plans must comply with state, local and HOA building requirements. The homeowner is required to get the HOA approval unless otherwise agreed upon. We can provide you detailed plans to submit to the HOA for approval. Be aware that some HOAs only meet once or twice a month to approve submissions so that could delay the start of your pool. Whether it is your HOA, County, or City permitting, we have you 100% covered. Our in-house architectural design team alongside our project managers will guide you through the entire process from county inspections to soil reports.
Layout
Consult with our designers and engineers to assist with the 3D custom pool design. Our architects will begin the process by spray painting the design on the ground area in your yard, where the pool will be located. We want to be certain that you are pleased with the layout before we give the excavation crew the guide for the dig. This step of the process can take up to a week, although this can depend on how many revisions are necessary to complete the layout.
Excavation
This excavation is an exciting time for the kids as well as the adults. Everyone loves big machinery, and you will be able to watch your backyard take the shape of your new swimming pool right before your eyes. Our craftspeople make it look easy, but it takes a lot of time and experience along with a lot of hard work to gain the knowledge and ability to do what they do. Week 2: This process takes approximately 2 days, then up to 1 week for the pulling of permits.
Steel
Week 3 of the installation process consists of the steel installation, this process take approximately two days. The family can sit back and relax, while watching our builders utilize the various techniques that are required to bending and forming the steel to the shape of your new swimming pool. Structural Steel is the steel reinforcement structure for the shell of your pool to give it added strength per the engineering plans. It consist of a series of bars placed horizontally and vertically specifically engineered for you pool design requirements. The shell of your new pool is warrantied for life from any cracks or defects to the original home owner.
Rough Plumbing
The plumbing for each pool is designed specifically to give it the best circulation and filtration for crystal clear water and ease of maintenance. We perform hydraulic calculations to ensure that all equipment and piping are of the correct size to combine water clarity and energy conservation. An experienced plumber will plumb in all of the filtration equipment for the pool, including water feature pumps and other optional equipment.
First City Inspection (Pre-Gunite)
Upon completion of the rough plumbing stage, we are required to have a city inspection before we can proceed to adding the gunite to your pool. This is the first of five city inspections and depending on the county or city and time of year can take a few days
Gunite
Gunite is concrete that is shot through a high pressure hose to create the shell of your new pool. Upon completion it is required that the homeowner lightly water the concrete 3-4 times per day to allow the concrete to cure slowly. Our craftsman are skill in handling the heavy equipment that it takes to gather the concrete and then shape your pool, spa, and even the steps to your pool. The three day process does include the time that is needed to allow the drying of the concrete. We will then need to wait another 5-7 days before we can begin the next step to allow the concrete to cure properly
Second City Inspection (Underground Gas, Electric, & Plumbing)
Upon completion of the underground plumbing, the plumbing lines will again be put under pressure and called for county or city inspection. When the underground gas, electric, and plumbing have been inspected and pass city inspection, the trenches will be covered, and deck area be re-graded. This is the second city inspection and depending on the county or city and time of year can take a few days
Coping/Tile/Waterfeatures
At this step we will install the waterline tile, coping around the pool edge and any water features such as waterfalls, water sheer, rain descent, deckjets, laminars, etc. The tile setter is a design artist that is responsible for the beauty surrounding the pool area. Tiles are utilized, at your request, to decorate the perimeter. The tile phase takes approximately close to a week (seven days) to complete. This is also dependent upon the design and square-footage of your chosen design. The time required will depend on the number of features and their complexity.
Upon completion of the coping, tile, and any water features. Deck bonding must be installed. Bonding requirements are an important and unique protective method employed to increase the safety of the users of bodies of water such as pools, spas, and hot tubs. Bonding connects the conductive elements of the pool structure, nearby metallic objects, and electrical equipment enclosures together. Bonding is required to eliminate voltage gradients (rises in voltage potential) in the pool area. After the deck bonding is complete, we are required to have a city inspection before we can proceed to the installation of your hardscape. This is the third city inspection and depending on the county or city and time of year can take a few days
Concrete/Pavers/Masonry
This phase encompasses the construction of outdoor living features such as outdoor kitchen/BBQ, fireplaces, sitting areas, ramadas, pergolas, etc. One of our primary goals is to “bring the indoors outside”. By creating structures that accommodate the way you live your life, your backyard can be enjoyed and utilized 365 days a year. The complexity of your project will determine the amount of time needed to complete this phase.
Landscaping Begins
This process takes up to 7 days. The landscaping design is the final step of your entire process and can take up to seven days, again, depending on the chosen layout style.
Equipment
While the trench lines were open, the pool filter and pump (and if your package includes a heater) were stubbed out at the pool equipment location and ready for your equipment to be installed. We supply the latest and most technologically advanced equipment. From state of the art smart pools with automation, to bacteria killing Ozone, we will find the right equipment for your family.
Electrical
Our master electricians will trench and install electrical conduit/wire from the house main electrical box to the equipment and all other locations specified on the plan. If utilizing a gas heater or BBQ, gas lines will be run from the main gas meter in the front of the house to the designated equipment. Upon Final City Inspection the homeowner will need to contact their gas company and have them connect the gas line to the main meter. Only the homeowner can call to schedule this appointment and will need to be home for the appointment to allow access to the home. This is a free service, and they will most likely install a larger meter to accommodate your use.
Upon completion of setting the equipment and connecting all electrical units, we are required to have a city inspection before we can proceed to adding the pebble plaster to the interior of the pool that was chosen. This is the fourth city inspection and depending on the county or city and time of year can take a few days
Plaster Interior Finish
The interior finish may be a one day or two day process depending on the interior material you have selected. An exposed aggregate quartz material will be a one day process and the pebble material selection will take a second day to acid wash and expose the pebble finish. These materials actually cure under water, so once they finish the application, they will start to fill the pool with water. This material cannot be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Fill & Start-Up
The family is probably ready to jump in by now! Once the pool is completely full, our service technician will start up the pool equipment, clean, add start-up chemicals and schedule a Pool School session with you. This session is designed to teach you about your pool equipment, maintaining the operation of your new pool and how to treat your pool water with the proper chemicals and their parameters. We want you to have full knowledge of the operation of your new pool and, we are always here to help and assist you with any questions.
Final City Inspection
Upon completion of filling and staring up your pool, we are required to have the final city inspection. We will call the county or city to final all building, electric and pluming inspections. This is the final county or city inspection and depending on the city and time of year can take a few days. You and your family are now ready to jump in and enjoy your “dream pool” for years and years to come.
